PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device which stabilizes a deflection direction of laser beams without complicating a production step of a surface emitting type semiconductor laser element. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device comprises a surface emitting type semiconductor laser element 2 and a stem 3 having an element mounting face 3A mounting this semiconductor laser element 2. With this arrangement of the semiconductor laser device, the semiconductor laser element 2 is mounted onto the element mounting face 3A of the stem 3 by use of a conductive paste 17, and also the protrusion 19 which applies a tensile distortion to the semiconductor laser element 2 is provided in the stem 3.
