PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of discharging a toner stuck/accumulated on a heating nip part from the heating nip part. SOLUTION: In the fixing device including: a heating rotating body 31; a heating means 33 that comes in contact with the surface of the heating rotating body so as to form a heating nip part L1; a pressure member 32 that comes in contact with the surface of the heating rotating body so as to form a fixation nip part N; for thermally fixing a toner image on a recording material P at the fixation nip part while holding and conveying the recording material P which carries the toner image, the fixing device further includes a varying member 37 for varying the width of the heating nip part in a recording material conveying direction.
