PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute usage remaining time of a battery corresponding to the current usage state to display at least on either of the two displaying means. SOLUTION: The video camera 60, to which a battery pack 1 outputting battery remaining capacity information, charge-discharge current detection information, and battery cell voltage detection information, is equipped with a communication circuit 65 receiving each information from the battery pack 1, a calculation circuit 66 calculating current battery residual quantity based on each information received, a display controlling circuit 67 generating display signal based on the computed result, a microcomputer 63 equipped with a panel/EVF controlling circuit 68, a displaying device 64 with a liquid crystal panel 101 and a viewfinder (EVF) 102, and a panel open-and-shut switch 79 detecting open and shut of the liquid crystal panel 101. A panel/EVF controlling circuit 68 controls at least either the liquid crystal panel 101 or the viewfinder 102 so as to display the usage remaining time of battery in response to detected result of the panel open-and-shut switch 79.
