PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front fork in which a spacer connected in series to a suspension spring can be formed easily while fulfilling a predetermined spacer function. SOLUTION: The front fork includes the suspension spring 3 of a coil spring that is received in a fork body having an outer tube 1 and an inner tube 2 retractably inserted in the outer tube 1 so as to operate to extend the fork body, and the tube-shaped spacer 4 similarly received in the fork body and connected in series to the suspension spring. The spacer 4 comprises a plurality of split bodies 41, 42 divided in a direction of expansion/contraction of the suspension spring 3. Protrusions 41b, 42b protruded in the radial direction are formed at end portions 41a, 42a of the split bodies 41, 42 facing the ends of the suspension spring 3 in the axial direction of the suspension spring 3. Outer peripheral surfaces of the protrusions 41b, 42b make sliding contact with an inner peripheral surface of the inner tube 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
