A saccharide-alkyleneoxy derivative comprising a compound represented by the following formula ( 1 ): <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>A-(EP)n-OH (1)<?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> wherein A represents a skeleton of a saccharide selected from the group consisting of C<SUB>3 </SUB>to C<SUB>32 </SUB>aldoses, ketoses and sugar alcohols; EP represents an ethyleneoxy group and/or a propyleneoxy group; and n represents an average number of the repeating units. Also disclosed are a method for producing the saccharide alkyleneoxy derivative, and an ink containing the saccharide-alkyleneoxy derivative.
