The pedal unit comprises two pedal bars (1,3), which are stretched in a vehicle longitudinal direction (x). A brake pedal (9) is provided, which is pivoted in between the pedal bars. The pedal bars are fixed to vehicle cross beams (6,7) that are spaced from each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction, particularly fixed to a front wall and a steering console (12).
