摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic encoder formed annularly of a magnetic rubber material, provided with multiple poles magnetized in the circumferential direction and having a surface to be detected being read out by means of a magnetic sensor, in which the surface to be detected can be prevented from being damaged significantly and a damage is inconspicuous even if damaged so that the product value is prevented from being deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: The area on the surface 2 to be detected susceptible to damage is reduced and a three-dimensional shape 3 is provided previously in the surface 2 to be detected in order to make a damage inconspicuous when the surface 2 to be detected is damaged.
