<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and broadband antenna and a portable terminal using the antenna. <P>SOLUTION: In the antenna having dielectric substrates, and a feeder line and a short-circuiting line made of conductive material on the dielectric substrates, the dielectric substrates are wounded around more than one turn so as not to bring the dielectric substrates into contact with each other, the feeder line and the short-circuiting line are capacitively coupled, and a frequency f<SB>H</SB>at which the feeder line resonates is higher than a frequency f<SB>L</SB>at which the short-circuiting line resonates. For example, the capacitive coupling between the feeder line and the short-circuiting line is generated by electrostatic capacitance between a feeder line and a short-circuiting line adjacent to each other on the dielectric substrate and electrostatic capacitance between a feeder line and a short-circuiting line opposite from each other when the dielectric substrates are wound around. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
