<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-on system reset circuit and a method thereof, which stop a sequence to be started to operate immediately after starting the operation of a logic circuit by power-on and then reset a system till stabilization of a power source and starts the system after stabilization of the power source. <P>SOLUTION: A power-on system reset circuit includes: sequence terminating means 10, 20, 30, 41, 42 which repeat processing of terminating an operation sequence occurring in a memory system till a supply voltage reaches a prescribed voltage after power-on; and a system reset means 43 which resets the memory system 50 after termination of the operation sequence.
