<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion detector capable of accurately detecting motions from a video signal. <P>SOLUTION: The motion detector extracts a one-frame difference signal from the video signal (10 and 12) and separates the one-frame difference signal into a vertical low band frequency signal having a frequency lower than a prescribed frequency in a vertical direction of frames of the video signal and a vertical high band frequency signal having a frequency equal to or higher than the prescribed frequency (14, 16, and 18) and separates signals in different frequency bands in a horizontal direction of frames of the video signal, from the vertical low band frequency signal and the vertical high band frequency signal (20 and 22) and mixes these separated signals (24). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
