<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of conventional replacement panels for combustor liners wherein heat stress may be induced in the panels during the operation, and if the operation is performed continuously while being subject to the heat stress, the panel causes thermal fatigue, weak points and/or cracks occur inside, and the panel must be replaced by replacing it with high cost effectiveness and high reliability since the replacement requires long time and high cost. <P>SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a replacement panel 240 for repairing the liner of the combustor of a gas turbine engine having a combustion zone formed by an inner liner and an outer liner comprises a step of forming the panel 240 of a sheet made of a material suitable for the combustor liner, a step of forming at least one opening 96 in the sheet, and a step of coating the replacement panel 240 with a thermal barrier material 110 adjacent to the opening 96. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
