PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot-in type disk device capable of performing a pull-in operation corresponding to the diameter of a disk with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: In the slot-in type disk device, a chassis exterior is constituted of a base main body 10 and a lid body; a disk insertion port 11 for directly inserting a disk is formed on the front surface of the chassis exterior; a traverse base 30 is disposed on the front surface side of the base main body 10; a traverse elevating and lowering slider 50 is disposed at the side part of the traverse base 30, and the traverse base 30 is elevated and lowered between the cam pin 35 of the traverse base 30 and the traverse elevating and lowering cam groove 52 of the traverse elevating and lowering slider 50. The slot-in type disk device is provided with a first detector 81 disposed at one end of the front surface of the chassis exterior and a second detector 82 disposed at the center part of the chassis exterior; the size of the disk is discriminated by the first detector 81, and the insertion of the disk is detected by the second detector 82.
