PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera device capable of detecting abnormality due to the illegal construction of an intruder by itself, and taking appropriate countermeasures. SOLUTION: This monitoring camera device 10 is provided with: an abnormality detection part 107 for detecting that a power source cable L1 or a signal cable L2 has been disconnected or dropped; and an illegal construction countering means for, when the disconnection or drop of the power source cable L1 or the signal cable L2 has been detected, starting the predetermined illegal construction countermeasures (the output of an alarm sound or the like).
