PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of securely and precisely tracking a moving object and adjusting the focus with small power consumption. SOLUTION: A peripheral part within a screen is designated as an area 101 for only tracking of an object since the peripheral part is not an object of appreciation with high possibility, and the tracking and focus adjustment are carried out only in the area 102 including a center portion within the screen. Consequently, while the power consumption is made lower than that when the tracking and focus adjustment are performed in the entire area within the screen, the object can securely be tracked.
