PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a yield of chopsticks, simplify an apparatus, conduct maintenance easily and reduce a cost. SOLUTION: A flat material 17 for chopsticks is cut into a plurality of long pieces or chopsticks 7 by rotating of a rotary cutter while relatively moving a plurality of cutters 55 arranged spaced apart from the flat material 17 for the chopsticks 7 at a predetermined interval. The flat material for the chopsticks is cut with the rotary cutter by making an sharp blade 55a of the rotary cutter cut in from one side of the flat material for the chopsticks that passes through the rotary cutter, pressing the other side of the flat material for the chopsticks with a conveying apparatus 40 mounted on the other side of the flat material for the chopsticks, and conveying the flat material for the chopsticks with the conveying apparatus 40.
