PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve structure for a shock absorber, enabling to improve ride comfort on a vehicle even when piston speed reaches a high speed region. SOLUTION: The valve structure for the shock absorber comprises a valve disc 1 having a port 2 in the shock absorber for isolating one chamber 41 from the other chamber 42 and communicating one chamber 41 with the other chamber 42, and an annular leaf valve 10 built up on the end face of the valve disc 1 at the side of the other chamber 42 for closing the port 2 at its downstream side. It has a flow path 20 communicating one chamber 41 with the port 2 at its upstream side, and a throttle valve 16 having a spool 17 for gradually reducing the area of the flow path in proportion to a pressure difference between pressure in one chamber 41 and pressure in the other chamber 42 when the former is over the latter as predetermined.
