According to the invention, the pigments (4) of the optically va riable color of the safety element (2) are irreversibly modified in at least one partial region (6) by means of electromagnetic radiation (5) such that the interference effect is visually and/or mechanically clearly recognizably modified, or completely eliminated in this partial region (6). |
