<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seawed decomposition product prepared using a kind of bacteria having the activity of decomposing seaweed, and suitable as a food/drink composition and a food/drink additive. <P>SOLUTION: The kind of bacteria belongs to the genus Microbulbifer, preferably having 16SrRNA sequence consisting of a specific nucleic acid sequence in its gene arrangement, more preferably being a Microbulbifer 6532 strain. A method for preparing the seaweed decomposition product involving bringing seaweed into contact with the above bacteria is also provided, wherein the seaweed is a kind of brown algae (scientific name: Phaeophyceae) such as wakame (scientific name: Undaria pinnatifid) or tangle. Compositions for eating/drinking use, skin care preparations and food/drink additives each containing the above seaweed decomposition product are also provided, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
