PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control map optimizing device capable of easily optimizing a control map to be used for control of a vehicle within a practical time. SOLUTION: The control map optimizing device 1 for optimizing a map constant (cn) of the control map M is provided with a control means 3 comprising the control map M capable of rewriting a plurality of map constants, respectively and a computing means 4 for computing the optimum value cnsuit of the plurality of map constants and assigning them to the control map M. The computing means 4 sets the maximum value cn<SB>1</SB>and the minimum value cn<SB>2</SB>of a range searching the optimum value of a corresponding map constant (cn) per each of the map constants (cn), makes a vehicle perform a trial based on the set values, and computes an evaluation value Q. The computing means 4 changes a numerical value having a not-good evaluation value Q close to a numerical value having a good evaluation value Q at a predetermined rate, and repeats the described operation to compute a numerical value having the best evaluation value Q as the optimum value cnsuit of the corresponding map constant.
