PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image memory, an image memory system, and a memory controller in which access can be performed efficiently for a rectangular region of two dimensional arrangement data. SOLUTION: The memory device has a memory cell array having a plurality of memory unit regions selected by an address, a plurality of input/output terminals, and input/output units provided between the memory cell array and the plurality of input/output terminals. Data of a plurality of bytes or bits corresponding to the plurality of input/output terminals are stored in the memory unit region, further, in the memory cell array and the input/output unit, access is performed for a plurality of bytes or bits in the first memory unit region corresponding to an input address and the second memory unit region being adjacent to the first memory unit region based on the input address and combination information of bytes or bits in response to a first operation code, the plurality of bytes or bits of combination based on combination information are related to the plurality of input/output terminals from the plurality of bytes or bits of the first and the second accessed memory unit regions.
