PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively attain fluctuation complement in resource monitoring and reduction of resource stress in a monitoring object computer system. SOLUTION: The collection interval adjustment system for resource monitoring for adjusting/controlling the collection interval of resource usage rate, exceeding of the usage rate over a predetermined threshold is detected, state transition of the ratio of the usage rate to the threshold is detected, and the collection interval is extended when the transition is small, and shortened when the transition is large.
