PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening and closing device structured to be strong enough to support any large loads applied when the door is opened or closed or during its lateral structural adjustment. SOLUTION: If a fixation member 2 is moved as a result of lateral adjustments of a door 4, an installation plate 10 moves in the direction of an arrow in the figure following the advance or retreat of an adjustment bolt 11 with the position of a connection member 13 used as a fulcrum, but the load of the installation plate 10 taking place at this movement is supported with the connection member 13 having an enough support strength. Moreover, the system is structured that the support strength of the connection member 13 can improve, since the connection member 13 is fitted into through holes 9e opened at points located near the both side ends of a thin plate part 9a of the adjustment plate 9 and immediately below the projection of a bent part 9b of the thin plate part 9a, and also other through holes 9b2 opened in the projection of the bent part 9b corresponding to these through holes 9e.
