PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine of treating amyloid diseases and monitoring symptoms thereof by examining effects of a benzene derivative or a pharmaceutically permissible salt thereof on amyloid protein coagulation or fiberization. SOLUTION: The benzene derivative has inhibitory actions on amyloid protein coagulation or fiberization. As the benzene derivative and the pharmaceutically permissible salt thereof inhibit amyloid protein structural change accompanied by the amyloid diseases so they are effective for treating the amyloid diseases. Further and additionally, as they have affinity to the amyloid protein so they are effective for detection of the amyloid protein.
