PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that in a conventionally-known steering wheel column, a pipe material is used, the column is constituted to cover a steering column shaft upward and downward, the pipe material is normally and significantly more expensive than products processed by iron press, and the pipe material requires more man-hour and much more costs than those of iron processing because of processes for forming a window on a side face and making guide grooves. SOLUTION: In this steering wheel column 3, a mounting body 4 formed to surround three sides with an approximate U-shaped lateral section is arranged at an intermediate portion of a handle shaft 2, and the mounting body 4 is arranged at both of upper and lower ends of the column to connect an upper tubular column 5 and a lower tubular column 6, and is mounted to a vehicle body 8 by a column supporting device 7.
