PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system recognizing the switching of a tap automatically, and shortening a tap switching time in an electric tapping machine. SOLUTION: This tap switching system 1 is provided with: a motor controller 2 controlling the rotary shaft driving motor 6 and the feed shaft driving motor 7 of the tapping machine 5; and a tap detecting sensor 3 detecting the tap. The motor controller 2 is provided with: a command data selecting means 21 selecting processing condition command data for each tap, based on information transmitted from the tap detecting sensor 3; and a processing condition commanding means 22 commanding the processing condition command data selected thereby to the respective motors 6, 7.
