The invention relates to an evaluation device (A) for a driver assistance system for a vehicle, comprising an input for receiving image information (P1, P2) recorded by a camera (K), a first component (M1) for locating an image section (AP1) present in a predefined shape in first image information (P1) received from the camera (K), a second component (M2) for requesting second image information (P2), wherein the second image information (P2) corresponds to a renewed image of an image section (AP1) found by the first component (M1), with improved contrast in relation to the first image information (P1). Furthermore, a third component (M3) is present for identifying a traffic sign in the second image information (P2), and an output (I) for emitting a signal relating to a traffic sign identified by the third component (M3). The invention further relates to a computer program product and to a method for operating a driver assistance system. |
