A method of determining a first carrier frequency offset between a transmitter and a receiver for a first frequency band and a second carrier frequency offset between the transmitter and the receiver for a second frequency band is provided. The method provided includes determining an estimate of the first carrier frequency offset, determining an estimate of the second carrier frequency offset, determining an estimate of a first sampling interval offset between the transmitter and the receiver for the first frequency band based on the determined estimate of the first carrier frequency offset, and determining an estimate of a second sampling interval offset between the transmitter and the receiver for the second frequency band based on the determined estimate of the second carrier frequency offset. The method provided further includes determining an averaged sampling interval offset based on the calculation of an average of the determined estimate of the first sampling interval offset and the determined estimate of the second sampling interval offset, and determining the first carrier frequency offset and the second carrier frequency offset based on the determined averaged sampling interval offset.
