A sub-LAC paging method includes: a MSC receiving a paging command, the MSC obtaining the BSC information corresponding to the cell where a MS finally is in, and sending the paging command to the corresponding BSC based on the BSC information, the BSC paging. The sub-LAC paging method can control network load effectively, save the network resource, so as to insure the safe and steady network run at all.
