The invention relates to the field of curative, preventive and/or palliative treatments of allergies. The invention more particularly relates to compositions such as a drug, a food additive and/or functional food, including at least one main chain oligosaccharide ß(1?3)-glucane having a polymerisation degree of 3 to 6, said oligosaccharide ß(1?3)-glucane being capable of preventing and/or blocking allergic reactions. Beside the capacity of inhibiting the synthesis of reaginic IgE, the oligosaccharide ß(1?3)-glucanes of the invention advantageously stimulate the release of IgA, as well as a the secretion and the physiological activity of INF? and IL-10.
