PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent step-out of a motor by correcting discontinuity of control due to difference in a basic step angle of each of excitation systems switched during driving the motor. SOLUTION: A controller is provided with an excitation switching correcting section 27 for correcting a phase switching step value in switching a phase excitation system, so that even when the phase excitation system is changed, the difference of the basic step angle of each of the excitation systems can be corrected. Alternatively, an interrupt control section 57 is further provided to minimize the occurrence of interruption and the frequency of step value correcting processing in switching the phase excitation system.
