PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a heat-sensitive transfer sheet wherein a heat-welding layer 13 does not go beyond an outline part of a figure 12 to enable the figure 12 to be transferred to the object surface clearly. SOLUTION: The method for producing the heat-sensitive transfer sheet sequentially carries out the following steps: a printing step for preparing a laminate paper obtained by pasting a heat-weldable sheet on a separate surface of a separate mount so as to be separable, and printing the figure 12 such as characters and a pattern with ink on the surface of the heat-weldable sheet in the laminate paper; a half blanking step for stamping out only the heat-weldable sheet on the separate mount along the outline shape of the figure 12; a waste-removing step for peeling the heat weldable sheet positioned at the outside of the outline shape of the figure 12 after the half blanking step; and a transparent sheet-covering step for covering the region in which the figure 12 is formed, with an adhesive transparent sheet by sticking the adhesive transparent sheet having heat resistance higher than that of the heat weldable sheet on the separate surface of the separate mount.
