PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the frame and gap of a liquid crystal display panel narrower by surely forming a sealing section in a prescribed position on a substrate. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 50a includes an active matrix substrate 20a and a counter substrate 30a arranged to face each other, a liquid crystal layer 25 disposed between the active matrix substrate 20a and the counter substrate 30a and a sealing section 42 disposed to surround the liquid crystal layer 25 between the active matrix substrate 20a and the counter substrate 30a. The active matrix substrate 20a is provided with a first overcoat film 12 for flattening the surface.
