[Also in Division H5] A container in which food may be heated by radio-frequency energy (see Division H5) comprises a metallic portion 16 suitable to terminate a waveguide (11, Fig. 1, not shown) and a transparent plastics film "window" 22 permeable to the radiation. A flange 18 enables the package to be readily fitted to the open end of a waveguide and a tear-strip 23 may be provided for opening the package. The container may be perforated for forced ventilation while being heated (Fig. 4, not shown). In another embodiment (Fig. 9) the container is in the form of a dish 55 of low loss material having a metal foil cover 56 shaped to reflect radiation on to the contents 54. The foil 56 is turned under the flange of dish 55 (Fig. 10, not shown) to contact and terminate the waveguide 53.
