An information processing device, a startup method and a program are provided for making it possible to more quickly start up so as to become a state in accordance with an operation of a user. A host CPU (11) changes a sate to an initial state out of operation states before a suspending state that suppresses the execution of processing of an application. An embedded controller (33) acquires a signal indicative of a startup factor from an input unit (11) that becomes a startup trigger. The host CPU (11) executes processing to return to the initial state in the case where it starts up from the suspending state and changes the state to an executing state of the application to execute processing of the application in accordance with a startup factor in the case where it returns to the initial state by a startup. The present invention can be applied to a digital still camera.
