PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near field light generation plate facilitating protrusion of a desired part of the near field light generation plate toward a medium, a thermally assisted magnetic head, an HGA including the thermally assisted magnetic head, and a hard disk device including the HGA. SOLUTION: The near field light generation plate 36 is disposed facing the medium 10, and one part 36b in the medium facing surface S and the other part 36a are formed of conductive materials different from each other. One part in the medium facing surface and the other part are formed of the plurality of conductive materials different from each other, so that the medium facing surface different in height of both parts is easily formed by a surface removal process by polishing, etching, or the like from the medium facing surface side on the basis of the difference in the materials.
