PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of reducing thermal/mechanical loads on a fixing belt. SOLUTION: The fixing device of this invention includes: a first roller 131 disposed inside of the endless fixing belt 135, for driving the fixing belt 135; a pressure roller 132 disposed parallel to the first roller 131, for fixing an unfixed toner image on a recording medium P conveyed to an area where the pressure roller comes in press contact with the first roller 131 through the fixing belt 135; a second roller 134 which is disposed inside of the fixing belt 135, and on which the fixing belt 135 is hung together with the first roller 131; and an outer heating roller 133 having a heat source 133a therein, for heating the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt 135. In an area where the fixing belt 135 travels from the second roller 134 to the first roller 131, the outer heating roller 133 comes in press contact with the second roller 134 through the fixing belt 135, and pressurizes the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt 135 toward the inside of the fixing belt 135.
