PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray for use in holding a plate-like item while it is being flexed, wherein the plate-like items can be easily and efficiently overlapped, transported and stored under a state in which they are held while keeping a predetermined space without causing the portions of functions acting as plate-like items to be contacted with another item and further a problem in quality of the plate-like items under influence of vibration can be eliminated. SOLUTION: A base member for supporting an entire tray is provided with a frame part having its inner region larger than a plate-like item and a plate-like item holding part supported by the frame part and for holding the plate-like item from below in the inner region of the frame part under a state in which the plate-like item is being fixed below in a vertical direction. The frame part may become overlapped portion when a plurality of trays are overlapped to each other, and formed in such a way that their front and rear surfaces are contacted to each other in their planes. At least a part of the rear surface acting as a surface of the plate-like item supporting part where the plate-like item is not placed has a plate-like item end motion restricting member fixed thereto in which it is abutted against the upper side of the end part when the end part of the lower plate-like item is moved upward under a state in which a plurality of trays are piled up so as to restrict a motion of the end part toward the upper side.
