PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof device and a waterproof method, which utilize an existing structure, without requiring large-scale construction work. SOLUTION: First and second plate-like waterproof bodies, which are formed in such a shape as to be capable of being watertightly joined together in the state of being bent at leading ends, are arranged in such a manner that a joint portion forms such an angle as to protrude in the direction of a high water level. Back ends of the first and second waterproof bodies are supported by using side surfaces of structures such as a building and a pile; water pressure acting on the first waterproof body is partially borne by the side surface of either of the structures via the second waterproof body; and water pressure acting on the second waterproof body is partially borne by the side surface of the other structure via the first waterproof body.
