<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a ferrite magnet in which magnetic properties of a ferrite magnet produced through the use of a magnetic granular material can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: A preformed compact is produced by pressure-forming a raw powder of a ferrite magnet under application of a magnetic field. A granular material produced by fracturing the preformed compact is pressure-formed under application of a magnetic field to produce a main compact, which is sintered to produce a ferrite magnet. In this course of processes, an octane acid or an hexane acid is added to the raw powder as a first additive prior to the preforming process to improve the orientation of particles, thereby improving the orientation of the magnetic granular material in the preforming process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
