<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed so that tribo-electric control is satisfactorily exerted depending on the image density of an ATR patch, toner consumption is reduced, and an adverse effect such as cleaning failure is also prevented. <P>SOLUTION: Image forming apparatus includes: an exposure area control means 35 for controlling exposure area per pixel of an exposure means 100 based on image information; and a switching means 72 for switching a quantity of exposure during reference toner image formation so that the exposure intensity of the exposure means 100 is decreased compared to that in regular image formation, thereby increasing the exposure area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
