<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the right of content, and to achieve pseudo streaming operation for reproducing distribution data with high quality even under a low band environment. <P>SOLUTION: When the supply instruction of distribution data is made from terminal equipment 40 through a network 80, the signal of content supplied from external equipment 70 is supplied from a distribution device 20 to the terminal equipment 40 as distribution data and stored. In the case of reproducing the stored distribution data, reproduction notification is operated from the terminal equipment 40 to the distribution device 20, and reproduction permission notification is supplied from the distribution device 20 to the terminal equipment 40 in response to this reproduction notification. The terminal equipment 40 reproduces the distribution data based on the reproduction permission notification, and ends reproduction when the reproduction permission notification is not supplied in a predetermined period. Only in the supply period of reproduction permission notification from the distribution device 20, the stored distribution data can be reproduced with high quality.
