COVER ELEMENT OF AIRBAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover element functioning as a case upper lid of an airbag device capable of smoothly opening an airbag lid without generating the breakage at a part coupling an airbag lid and an instrument panel body.

SOLUTION: The cover element of this invention is the cover element 1 of the airbag device integrally equipped with a door portion 2, a frame portion 3 arranged so as to surround the door portion 2, and a hinge portion 4 coupling the door portion 2 and the frame portion 3. The frame portion 3 has first slits 7 opening toward an inner peripheral edge 13 of the frame portion 3 at both sides of a part where the hinge portion 4 is arranged. The hinge portion 4 has a frame portion side coupling end 25 between blocking ends 7a of the first slits 7. A U-shaped curving portion 29 is formed through a first extending portion 27 extending from the frame portion side coupling end 25 on the same surface with the surface of the frame portion 3. A first bending portion 30 bending from the first extending portion 27 to the curving portion 29 is arranged on the blocking end 7a side of the first slit 7 rather than the inner peripheral edge 13 of the frame portion 3.
