<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate of which the cell gap is more uniform than that of a conventional one, and which has excellent display quality, and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter substrate has: a base material with a display region and a non-display region; a light shielding section formed in a pattern on the display region of the base material; a coloring layer formed on opening sections of the light shielding section on the display region of the base material and composed of coloring patterns of three or more colors; and two or more kinds of post spacers formed on the display region and the non-display region of the base material, each with a height different from one another, and formed by laminating at least two or more layers selected from a group comprising the coloring patterns of the respective colors and the light shielding section; wherein the color filter substrate is characterized in that areas in plan view of at least a layer with an identical ordinal number other than the uppermost layer out of layers constituting the two or more kinds of the post spacers are different from one another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
