<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight while preventing the deformation of an end wall of an oil chamber and a piston for operating a clutch part of an automatic transmission of an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing device 31 is provided with a pair of annular oil chambers 26, 33 around an input shaft 11, with a piston 25 held in between. The oil chamber 26 is supplied with pressure oil inside to move the piston 25. The oil chamber 33 is provided for generating oil pressure for offsetting the centrifugal oil pressure of the oil chamber 26. The end wall 72 partitioning the axial end of the oil chamber 33 comprises a partition plate 29, and the inner diameter part side portion 52 of the partition plate 29 is formed to be thick-walled.
