<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control device using the pressure holding property of magnetic fluid for reducing power consumption during operation restriction. <P>SOLUTION: The operation control device is provided for selectively restricting at least reciprocating operation or the operation of an operating member having rotating operation. It comprises the magnetic fluid whose viscosity is increased with an increase of an operating magnetic field to restrict the operation of the operating member, and magnetic field control means (Steps S13, S14) for reducing the magnetic field during a time from increasing the magnetic filed in accordance with a request on the operation restriction of the operating member to giving a cancelling request on the operation restriction of the operating member, to keep the viscosity of the magnetic fluid in a relatively increased condition. Thus, no need exists for demagnetizing the magnetic field at all times, therefore reducing power consumption and improving the mileage of a vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
