PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electronic component using a shared board body, and capable of reducing the number of kinds of components of rotary electronic components, both of a type not having a click mechanism and of a type having a click mechanism; and its assembly method. SOLUTION: A shared board body 10 composed by mounting a frame member 80 around sliding contact patterns 45 and 47 with the patterns exposed therefrom, mounting a mounting plate 20 on the bottom surface side as well, and forming click plate connection parts 25 exposed from the frame member 80 on the mounting plate 20, a rotary knob 120 having a slider 140 mounted thereto, and a click plate 100 are prepared. Assembly of the rotary electronic component 1-1 with click is carried out by installing the click plate 100 on the shared board body 10 by connecting it to the click plate connection parts 25, and further installing the rotary knob 120. Assembly of the rotary electronic component 1-1A without click is carried out by installing the rotary knob 120 on the front surface side of the shared board body 10 with the sliding contact patterns 45 and 47 exposed.
