PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content data reproduction device, a content list generation method, and a content list retrieval method, capable of efficiently generating a music list regarding music data in a medium according to the transfer speed of the connected medium, and quickly performing music data retrieval. SOLUTION: When an external medium 31 is connected to an on-vehicle audio device 1, the type of the external medium 31 is recognized. If the type of the external medium 31 is stored as a low-transfer-speed medium in a medium database 21, data names of music data are obtained to generate a music data name list. If the type of the external medium 31 is stored as a high-transfer-speed medium in the medium database 21, music information regarding the music data is obtained to generate a music information list.
