PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily add fringe information to audio data. SOLUTION: When an audio CD 30 is mounted on a disk drive 14, the audio data and TOC information are read out from the audio CD 30, and compressed audio data is produced after a CPU 11 applies compression coding to the audio data. The compressed audio data and the TOC information are recorded on a memory device 20. Next, a fringe CD 40 is mounted on the disk drive 14 and, the TOC information is read out from the memory device 20. The CPU 11 compares the TOC information from the memory device 20 with the TOC information recorded in the fringe CD 40. When both of the TOC information coincide with each other, the fringe information associated with the TOC information is read from the fringe CD 40 for transformation into a preset format and then adds it to the compressed audio data recorded on the memory device 20.
