PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device at a low cost, where a fixing processing is sufficiently performed by a fixing roller over a long period by simply constituting a separation pawl moving mechanism disposed in a separating device. SOLUTION: The separation pawls 30 are supported by a separation pawl holder 40 configured to be slidable in the axial direction of the fixing roller 20, and a displacement member 61 formed of a shape memory alloy is installed in the separation pawl holder 40, and the separation pawl holder 40 is made slidable in the axial direction of the fixing roller 20 in accordance with the temperature of the fixing roller 20 with the shape memory effects of the displacement member 61, then, the position of each separation pawl 30 is displaced.
