PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device restricted in the amount of flexure to zero or a small value up to a predetermined load and exhibiting the base isolating effect to a certain value or more of load. SOLUTION: This base isolation device comprises a table on which a base isolated material is placed and which is vertically moved in relation to a base, a vertical directional spring member provided between the table and the base to generate the spring force in the vertical direction in response to the vertical movement of the table, and a horizontal directional spring force generating means for generating the spring force in the horizontal direction following the vertical movement of the table.
